Central College’s distance medley relay, which qualified in 9 minutes, 50.50 seconds (a school record) at the Wartburg Final Qualifier on March 2, were seeded second for nationals.
Noah Erickson, a senior from Mount Vernon, and the rest of the Dutch distance medley relay finished in 10:20.97 and in 12th place Friday at the Division III Indoor Track Championships in Virginia Beach, Va. Lynchburg won in 9:47.17, and Wartburg was second (9:49.22).
Lily Meester, a Wartburg junior and Mount Vernon grad, placed 11th in the shot put Saturday with a throw of 44 feet, 6 inches. Alexis Boykin of MIT won the event with a toss of 48 feet, 6.25 inches.
Cornell distance runner Isaac vanWestrienen placed 18th in the 5,000-meter run and 19th in the 3,000-meter run at the D3 Indoor Meet.
He was Cornell’s first indoor qualifier since 2019.

Lux Hall of Lisbon, who wrestles with DC Elite, won first place at the AAU Super Peewee State Tournament on March 2 in Waterloo.
Lux won the 40-pound girls’ kindergarten division.
