No one was injured, but a detached garage was a total loss in an early Saturday morning fire in rural Ely.
According to Sgt. Chad Wakinson with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were paged to a structure fire along Palisades Access Road Saturday, Jan. 20, at 3:14 a.m. Ely Fire Department, Mount Vernon Fire Department, Lisbon Fire Department, Solon Fire Department, Swisher Fire Department and Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service all assisted at the blaze.
When first responders arrived, they found a large, detached garage was engulfed in flames. The garage and it’s contents were a total loss. The fire remains under investigation.
