BVU dean’s fall listAmanda Bishop and Benjamin Crock of Mount Vernon and Kambree Hultquist of Martelle were named to the fall 2023 dean’s list at Buena Vista University. The dean’s list recognizes full-time students achieving a 3.5 grade point average or higher for the semester.
Upper iowa University dean’s list Julia Cornelius and Marcus Orr of Mount Vernon were named to the fall 2023 dean’s list at Upper Iowa University. To be honored, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
ISU fall 2023 graduatesMore than 1,700 graduates received degrees from Iowa State University this fall. Graduate and undergraduate ceremonies were held Dec. 15-16 at Hilton Coliseum.
Of the 1,705 students who graduated this semester, a total of 1,742 degrees were awarded (1,431 undergraduate, 311 graduate) with some students earning multiple degrees.
Locals among the graduates include:
Cedar Rapids — Nathan Ayers, bachelor of science with cum laude honors in electrical engineering.
Lisbon — Garrett Brooks, bachelor of science in chemistry
Christopher Cannon, bachelor of science with magna cum laude honors in software engineering
Mechanicsville — Emma Bock, bachelor of science with summa cum laude honors in biology (AGLS). Bock was also a Honors Program member
