What do a traveling druggist, a railroad bridge builder, a prominent Civil War veteran and a Lisbon banker have in common?
They all have important connections to Mount Vernon Bank & Trust Company.
Their stories – and the stories of many others – will be the focus of a history presentation at the bank 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19. The free program is one of a handful of activities for our 140th anniversary.
“We’re honored and proud to have been serving the Mount Vernon-Lisbon-Cornell community since 1884,” said bank president/CEO Dave Ryan. “This bank is built on relationships, and that focus continues in our 140th year. We hope you come celebrate with us.”
Visit the bank Friday, Jan. 19, for these events:
• Presentation: Join us at 10 a.m. for about a half-hour presentation titled “The interesting characters of Mount Vernon Bank & Trust.” You’ll learn the stories of all kinds of people connected to the bank.
• Giveaway: Stop into the bank for a free “serving you since 1884” ice cream scoop.
• Ice Cream: We’ll have soft-serve ice cream in the lobby all day.
• History display: Check out a timeline of the bank’s history, along with some unique artifacts, in our lobby.
