Mount Vernon Bank & Trust Company president/CEO Dave Ryan has announced that Jake Krob and Chris Kerr have earned promotions, effective in 2024.
Krob is now a senior vice president, and Kerr is a vice president and controller.
“Jake Krob is a tireless community supporter and excels wearing many hats here at the bank,” Ryan said. “Interestingly, his banking career started at the bank as a board member in 2015, when he owned and managed the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun and six other Eastern Iowa newspapers. Then, as he transitioned out of the newspaper business, he joined us in 2019 with responsibilities in lending and leading the bank’s marketing department. Fast forward to 2023, he took on the responsibility of managing the retail side of the bank. Jake is doing great things here and will continue to serve in these capacities as he joins our executive management by being promoted from vice president to Senior Vice President.”
Krob, a Tipton High School and Buena Vista University graduate, resides in Mount Vernon with his wife, Niki, and seven children.
“Chris Kerr has steadily risen in the bank since his hire as a credit administration officer in 2020,” Ryan said. “He was a key player during the pandemic and capably managed the bank’s PPP program, gaining key lending experience along the way. Chris is very versatile as he handles much of our backroom credit culture, which is key for a community bank, along with serving several local lending clients. His accounting background has served him well as he also was recently awarded as one of the top graduates at this year’s Iowa Bankers Association School of Banking. I’m proud of his progress here. In addition to his current role, we will be exposing him to the financial operations of the bank and promoting him from Assistant Vice President to Vice President and Controller.”
Kerr, a Mount Vernon High School and University of Dubuque graduate, resides in Mount Vernon with his wife, Madeline, and three children.
