The weeks were busy for both Mount Vernon and Lisbon, as the two schools held homecoming celebrations last week.
Mount Vernon saw the dedication and opening of the new Martha Parsons Family Activity complex (see photos page 20) and first varsity game at the new facility, with the Mustangs earning a 24-7 win (see page 12). Audrey Tucker was named homecoming queen and Luke Stephens homecoming king at Mount Vernon’s coronation Thursday, Sept. 28.
Lisbon crowned Addy Happel queen and Ryan Ross king at coronation Friday, Sept. 29. Hall of fame inductees were also recognized Friday (see page 2). Earlier in the week, the juniors took the win in powderpuff (see page 8. The Lions took a roaring win against Wapello. 68-0, (see page 12)
