Mount Vernon went 4-0 during its home invitational last Monday, beating Waverly-Shell Rock, Solon, Grinnell and Independence. Hayden Gookin led in kills, Maverick Schweer in digs per set, and Lilly Hotz was cited for stepping in at the right side with a great positive attitude.
