Lisbon High School will celebrate homecoming week Monday Sept. 25 through Saturday, Sept. 30.
Monday’s dress up theme for the high school is blue collar/white collar day, and at elementary and middle school it is Night in (pajamas) or night out (fancy). There is a junior varsity volleyball game at Pekin starting at 6 p.m. and home ninth graders/sophomore volleyball matches beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday’s dress up theme is Decades Day for all grades (1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s). The evening concludes with a high school volleyball match versus Iowa City Regina beginning with ninth graders/sophomores at 5:15 p.m.
Wednesday’s dress up theme for the high school is class color day with seniors wearing orange, juniors wearing blue, sophomores wearing purple and ninth graders wearing yellow. For elementary and middle school, the theme is tie-dye day. Wednesday evening sees the powderpuff football games at Walmer Field, as well as the senior skit, beginning at 7 p.m.
Thursday’s dress up theme is Barbie vs. Ken Day for all grades. Homecoming King and Queen votes are cast during the day. The music boosters will hold a soup supper from 5 to 7:30 p.m., and the home volleyball match against Marquette begins at 5:15 p.m.
Friday’s theme day is Spirit Day for all grades. The high school will have an early out release for homecoming activities including class tug of war and boys’ volleyball games, followed by a pep rally in the Lions’ Den. Coronation is at 6:10 p.m. and the Homecoming game against Wapello begins at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 30 includes a home ninth-grade and sophomore volleyball tournament starting at 8:30 a.m. and a junior volleyball tournament at Anamosa beginning at 9 a.m.
Homecoming dance begins at the school at 8 p.m.
