Care4Kids will be holding a seminar in Cedar Rapids Saturday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Cedar Rapids Marriott.
The event is directed toward the owners and operators of child care organizations throughout the state of Iowa. The goal is to provide those who work in childcare the resources they need to run a profitable child care business. Areas explored at the seminar include:
• Identifying state-offered resources
• Questions related to insurance requirements and options
• Increasing your organization’s revenue
All child care providers who attend the event will receive three hours of HHS Training Credits.
Commissioner Doug Ommen with the Iowa Insurance Division said this is the first year these types of seminars have been offered. They were created to better provide resources for child care providers across the state.
This is the fifth of these educational seminars the Iowa Insurance Division has held, and they have received feedback from previous attendees that they were informational and helped them investigate things needed for a childcare business, especially around insurance concerns.
“Our goal is to connect all childcare providers with resources they have access to locally to best answer questions they may have and help their childcare businesses thrive,” Ommen said.
The session is open to individuals or daycare centers. There will be one more Care4Kids event in Iowa slated for Saturday, Sept. 23, in Davenport from 9 a.m. to noon at the Holiday Inn and Suites.
