If you are looking for guidance on home renovation and improvement projects, Caitlyn Wu Campagna and the crew from Randy’s is here to help.
Randy’s will be hosting an event called Renovating with Randy’s Saturday, July 22, at the Lester Buresh Family Community Wellness Center.
Campagna said she had wanted to help organize this to help people better understand flooring and other home renovation ideas.
“I know when it comes to flooring, we get people who get overwhelmed with the different options and types of flooring,” Campagna said. “And they get misled on how easy certain styles of flooring can be to place, and find that those floors don’t last.”
Campagna wants people to know their options and come across with more information on different styles of flooring and guidance. The presentations will discuss resilient flooring, including carpet.
“Future talks and presentations might delve into things like tile and laminates, but we wanted to talk about carpet and resilient flooring and what installation of these actually entails to help people know if it is something they can do themselves or if they might want to hire a contractor to do it the correct way,” Campagna said.
She and Brad Giebeck will be two of the presenters at the event. Giebeck is a flooring installer for Randy’s with years of experience in flooring.
She also knows as a parent how hard it can be to take children to showrooms or to stores on the weekend, and childcare will be available during the event at the LBC.
She will have Molly Jo Wolfe of Lee’s Town and Country speaking about some of the improvements people can make to homes and living spaces that helps to increase the value of one’s home or just what colors are currently in.
As well as the experts from Lee’s and Randy’s, there will also be vendors from Kitchens By and Design and Illuminate, two local sponsors, who will help people with kitchen and bathroom cabinetry and lighting designs.
“These are all companies who are locally owned that want to share their knowledge and know how with the community,” Campagna said.
When it comes to food, Willie Ray’s Q Shack will be on site. Willie Fairley was born and raised in Benndale, Miss., watching his dad BBQ and learning their secret family recipes. He opened Willie Ray’s Q Shack in 2019. His business picked up during the pandemic since he got a lot of drive-up customers and after the Derecho devastation, he drove to different neighborhoods to provide free meals to folks all over the area. He has continued his humanitarian mission to take breaks from his normal business operations to travel all over the U.S. to feed victims of natural disasters including freezing storm, hurricane, and tornado victims in Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, Florida, and Mississippi. He says his business is special because of the passion and love he puts into it and he uses fresh ingredients every day and never reuses. His business mantra is “We let the smoke do the talking”. He will be parked outside the LBC in MV on July 22 at 1 p.m. serving his regular menu for cash/credit customers, and will be providing free small bites (rib bone + slider) for the first 50 people who RSVP for the “Talks + BINGO” program at the Renovate with Randy’s event. The Q Shack will be serving food at LBC until 5 p.m. or until he runs out of food.
The talks and presentations need an RSVP, and begin at 2:30 p.m. To register for those events, sign up at https://renovatewithrandys.eventbrite.com.
“For me, doing this for the community is just a way to give back to the community who has given so much to me and my family,” Campagna said. “People have been so nice and welcoming to us and our family, and this is a way to bring some big city pizzazz to our local community and get people information and guidance on flooring and other home improvement designs.”
