After a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the dessert contest is returning to Chocolate Stroll. Named the “Make It With Chocolate” Contest, this feature of Chocolate Stroll encourages bakers of all ages and abilities to share their talents to create an entry that features chocolate as a key ingredient.
There are separate categories for Youth (entrants must be under 18 years old) and Adults (18 and older). There will be prizes for first, second, and third place for each category. Judges are considering the criteria of taste, appearance, and the use of chocolate.
The Contest is free to enter. Participants can be from any town. Entry forms and rules are available at The Nourishing Root (on the corner of First Ave and First Street in Uptown Mount Vernon) and on the VisitMVL.com website. All entries must be accompanied by an official entry form.
Entries can be dropped off at The Nourishing Root on Saturday, June 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Judging will begin at 1 pm and winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend the announcement of the winners and see the winning entries.
Come join this fun contest as it returns to the festivities of Chocolate Stroll.
