The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation announces adjustments to the number and timing of grant deadlines in 2023. This change is to better align grant opportunities with the fiscal years of nonprofit organizations.
The 2023 grant deadlines will be March 1, June 30, and September 12. The deadlines for the Program Support and Organization Support Grants will be March 1 and September 12. The Endowment Challenge and Linn County Grants deadline will be September 12. Competitive Donor-Advised Funds will accept applications as determined by the donor-advisors. Grants from the Community Foundation are awarded to organizations that enhance the quality of life in Linn County. The Community Foundation accepts applications from nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) status, governmental organizations, and non-501(c)(3) organizations that have completed arrangements to obtain a fiscal sponsor. Grant applications can be submitted online at gcrcf.org.
On Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 9 to 10 a.m., the Community Foundation will host a Nonprofit Know-How: Tips for 2023 Community Foundation Grant Applicants at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. Program Officers will engage in conversation about the 2023 grant programs and applications. To register, visit www.gcrcf.org/events/.
For the first grant cycle due on March 1, 2023, applications will be accepted for the following grant programs:
Program Support Grants: Support new, innovative programs and sustains current and/or ongoing programs. Grant awards are a maximum of $25,000 in a 12-month period or $50,000 over two years. Award limits are based on organizational age and size.
Organization Support Grants: Support general operating costs and capacity-building projects for nonprofits that impact the quality of life in Linn County, Iowa. Grant awards from $1,000 to $25,000 are based on organization age and size.
Competitive Donor-Advised Funds: Supports nonprofits that align with the funding priorities of the donor-advisors. The Community Foundation accepts grant applications for a number of local corporations and family funds. The programs, grant award sizes, and activities to be funded are determined by each donor-advisor and may include programmatic or operating support, capital campaigns, event sponsorships and religious activities. GreatAmerica Financial Services Corporation is accepting applications during this cycle.
The Community Foundation continues to accept grant applications from its Rapid Response Grants for emergency expenses or emerging opportunities, as needed.
