If you would love to be a florist in the town of Mount Vernon and Lisbon, Blooming Acres is looking for a buyer for their business at First Street Community Center.
Owner Becka Owen announced Blooming Acres will be going up for sale at the beginning of the new year. The business will retain the same hours through the rest of December and the holiday season, but beginning in January, the shop will move to part-time hours. That will continue until a buyer is found for the floral and gift shop in First Street Community Center.
“We will make sure to keep our schedule posted on our website and socials. If you have gift certificates, we recommend using them by January.,” Owen said.
The shop currently has one wedding booked for February that they plan to take care of.
“We plan to take flower/plant preorders on a daily basis as best we can. There is still a lot of unknown but will do our best to keep servicing Mount Vernon until we can find a buyer. I know there is some creative person out there that will love helping Mount Vernon/Lisbon with their flower and plant needs just as much as we have. What I know for sure is I have met the most amazing people over the last 20 years that have become best friends and even family.”
Owen commended her employees over the years, noting the shop would not have lasted this long without their assistance.
“Their constant support and encouragement have meant the world to me,” Owen said.
If anyone is interested in purchasing the floral and gift shop, talk to Owen.
“We’re really looking for a buyer who wants to take over and run this shop,” Owen said. “Running a small business is a lot of work and a lot of time, but we’d love to see this shop continue in Mount Vernon.”
