The Mount Vernon girls’ wrestling team participated in last week’s Donnybrook tournament.
“It was a big tournament, with four or five states there,” noted head coach Trevor Trende.
The tournament, held at Xtream Arena in Coralville, was useful, Trende said, to “see where we’re at as a team.”
“We performed pretty well overall. I was happy with our performance. I was proud of all our efforts.”
Libby Dix placed second at 190 pounds, while Aly Lashley came in fourth at 235.
The team can next be caught in action at home tonight (Thursday, Dec. 8), and in Marion Dec. 10.
