The Lisbon High School Band received their second straight division I at the state marching band competition, and it’s first Division I as a Class 2A music program.
“It is a great accomplishment,” said director Joseph Arch.
Arch said there were four other 2A schools at the competition Lisbon competed at, and 39 total 2A schools across the state that participate in state marching band competitions. While the district received a Division I rating, there are no placements in state marching band competitions.
Lisbon also participated in the Bands Across the Prairie competition earlier in the season, where they were second place with best winds, percussion and drum majors for Class 2A bands.
This week saw the Hwy. Marching Band Classic for Lisbon as well.
“With the Hwy. 1 Marching Band Classic done, we move on to Concert Band season and Jazz Band,” Arch said.
