Cornell’s women’s soccer team continued a challenging nonconference stretch Thursday with a 5-0 home loss to UW-Platteville.
The Rams (1-7-1) surrendered four goals in the opening 16 minutes of regulation to UW-Platteville, which improved to 6-1-1 on the year. Cornell’s last three opponents now have a combined 17-4-2 season record.
Cornell held its own after the initial outburst from the Pioneers, who owned a 20-7 advantage in total shots. UW-Platteville built the early 4-0 lead, although then didn’t score again until the 84th minute.
The Rams accounted for five shots on goal, two by Amelia Brown. Kylie Hard added two attempts, one on goal
Sabrina Ibanez saved two shots in 74 minutes at keeper for the Rams. Krystin Kamrath had one save in relief.
