With the exception of partitions that needed to be replaced in several bathrooms, a number of summer projects have been completed by Rod Kelley and his crew.
“The partitions were one of the items that are being delayed by supply side shortages,” Kelley said. “They’re expected to be delivered by the middle or end of September.”
Kelley said when the partitions do arrive, the district will close certain bathrooms for a day to finish their installation and move on to another restroom the next day.
The sidewalk leading to the track saw a heave during the rain and heat of this summer, leaving two panels that will need to be fixed by Kelley and crew before football season begins.
“Because it’s a fenced in area, it will have to be done by hand, as it’s hard to get equipment in that space,” Kelley said.
Kelley said that the ground has improved in areas like the playground and practice field to 75 percent grass, but that will change with students returning and heavy foot traffic on some of those spaces.
During one of the significant rain storms where Lisbon saw four inches of rain, Teeling Court floated and shifted on the playground. Kelley said that he will be seeking additional help to move the court in the future back to where it belongs.
“It was a good year thanks to our great staff,” Kelley said. “We got through everything on our list, with the exception of restroom partitions.”
