Five Cedar County Students are Recipients of Cedar County Historical Society J. Curtis and Frances Forest Frymoyer Scholarships
The Cedar County Historical Society J. Curtis and Frances Forest Frymoyer scholarship program was established in 2001 for students from Cedar County applying to a university, collage, community college or technical College.
J. Curtis and Frances Forest Frymoyer were founding members of the CCHS. Along with maintaining their Cedar County century farm, they were active in both local and state history preservation and numerous civic organizations.
This year five Cedar County students were awarded scholarships totaling $5000 to be paid after each student’s completion of a successful first semester:

Franklin Bierman who graduated from Tipton High School and is attending the University of Minnesota.
Keith Urmie who graduated from Tipton High School and is attending Iowa State University.
Marshal VanOort who graduated from North Cedar High School.
Madison Weber who graduated from Durant High School.
Jenna Woodward who graduated from Lisbon High School.
