First responders are continuing their search for a person in a drowning at Palisades Kepler State Park. According to Kent Steenblock. Captain of the Linn County Sheriiff’s Office, the victim is Zyah Thomas, 11, of Cedar Rapids.
First responders responded to an emergency call at Palisades Park at 3:36 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, for a person who went into the water at Palisades Kepler and began to struggle.
Agencies at the scene included Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police Department, Lifeguard Air ambulance, Iowa State Patrol, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Lisbon-Mount Vernon Fire Departments, Cedar Rapids Fire Department River Rescue and Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service.
