American pop artist and author Michael Albert is touring the Midwest this Summer with over 40 stops in Iowa. One of these stops is Cole Library.
Albert is the author of an artist autobiography titled, “An Artist’s America” and is nationally known for making collage artworks from Cereal boxes & other printed cardboard consumer brand packages. His work has been described as a cross between Pop Art, Cubism & Recycling.
He will be bringing his nationally renowned “Modern Pop Art Experience” Art program to Cole Library Wednesday, July 27, at 10 a.m. You MUST preregister with Grace Chamberlain by calling 319- 895-5940 or emailing her at [email protected]. There are limited spots available.
Albert has been running this program for over a decade and has brought it to over 1,000 libraries, museums, arts events and schools in 40 states. He is coming to Iowa for the first time this summer! I am excited that while in Iowa he will be sharing his art with us and leading us in a hands-on collage workshop where you will create your own collages using his techniques.
