The Mount Vernon and Lisbon Public Libraries are pleased to once again welcome acclaimed
Celtic fingerstyle guitarist and storyteller Jerry Barlow for a special concert.
The program will be held Wednesday, July 13, at 7 p.m. at Lisbon Heritage Hall, 101 East Main St. in Lisbon. The program is sponsored by the libraries and is free to the community.
Fingerstyle is a guitar technique where the strings are plucked directly with the fingertips. It allows the guitarist to play a chord and melody simultaneously, giving a feeling of depth to the music.
Barlow’s program features music and stories from the medieval time of Scottish, Irish, and English history. There will be ample opportunity for some toe-tapping, some sing-along, and even some step-dancing if you are so inclined. I hope you will join us.
