On Wednesday, May 25, the Mount Vernon School Board unanimously approved the financial plan and budget for the Mustang Activities Complex as presented in the public hearing held May 9.
Approval is contingent on the school district raising a minimum of $2 million through private sources, with the total cost of the project not to exceed $6.25 million. The project will be financed through a combination of private support, use of Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) funds, and securing a loan through PPEL not to exceed $3.25 million.
The final approval of the project will take place with the approval of the construction bid that is anticipated to be brought to the Board in September or October of 2022.
