Michael Stewart, 52, North Liberty, was injured in a motorcycle crash with a deer along Hwy. 1 Thursday, April 21. Stewart was transported by the Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service to Mercy Iowa City for treatment and evaluation.
According to Sgt. Todd Egli of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the accident was reported at 8:23 p.m., just south of Longview Court.
Stewart was southbound on Hwy. 1. As he was driving, Stewart struck a deer in the roadway and lost control of his motorcycle. Stewart was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and received minor injuries.
Mount Vernon Lisbon Police Department, Mount Vernon Fire Department, Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service and Linn County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.
