The Lisbon varsity boys and girls track and field crews had a big week, with the boys placing third place Tuesday night at a “chilly” Dike New-Hartford event before both teams took part in the Thursday Bellevue Comet Co-Ed Relays, where the boys finished as team champions and the girls took second place.
Before the event at Bellevue, the Lions learned 16 kids between the two teams had qualified for this week’s Drake Relays.
“It’s the most kids we’ve ever had qualify at one time for Drake,” said head coach Casey Baxa. To bring 16 athletes to the relays, Baxa said, “that is huge” for a 1A school.
