Sewer rates will be increasing in Lisbon at the beginning of this coming fscal year.
Lisbon city administrator Brandon Siggins said that the rates need to increase by roughly 3 percent for the coming year. The increases are slated to increase from $14.02 to $14.44 for the first 1,000 gallons treated. Rates per thousand after the first thousand would increase from $5.89 to $6.07. Sewer debt for the first thousand gallons would go from $9.93 to $10.23, and rates per thousand after the first thousand will go from $1.80 to $1.85.
The new rates go into effect July 1.
Council member John Bardsley noted that the rate changes are needed to help maintain lower rates for the state revolving funds the city has utilized on a number of larger projects within the city’s sewer and water mains in the past few years.
The council approved the new rates unanimously, and there were no comments from the public at the public hearing.
