One of the most popular genres in teen literature right now is graphic novels. This trend is certainly evident at Cole Library — whether it’s nonfiction, memoir, fantasy, or horror — graphic novels fly off the YA Nonfiction shelves. We recently purchased a number of bestselling and award-winning graphic novels to satisfy our teen patrons. Each book has its own distinctive artistic style that works to enhance the story, ranging from subtle and sketchy to brightly colored, pop-art.
Below is a list of our new YA graphic novels:
Ain’t Burned All the Bright by Jason Reynolds and Jason Griffin
The Greatest Thing by Sarah Winifred Searle
Nubia: Real One by L.L. McKinney and Robyn Smith
Run: Book One by John Lewis and Andrew Aydin
Messy Roots: A Graphic Memoir of a Wuhanese American by Laura Gao
The Sad Ghost Club by Lize Meddings
Squad by Maggie Tokuda-Hall and Lisa Sterle
Squire by Nadia Shammas, Sara Algageeh
Teen graphic novels are shelved in the YA Nonfiction section under the Dewey Decimal number 741.5. Find titles these and many more in the Browsing Room.
