The Mount Vernon Academic Decathlon team competed at regional tournament at Grundy Center Wednesday, Jan. 26. The team placed sixth overall in the small school division.
The team will not be competing at the state tournament, which will be held March 4 and 5 in Mason City.
Team members did earn individual honors at the competition.
Senior Lily Booth earned a bronze in music and silver in mathematics in the Honors division of competition.
Junior Claire Gaffney earned a gold in music and silver in science in Honors division of competition.
Sophomore Landon Miksch earned a bronze in mathematics and a gold in interview with a perfect score of 1000 in the varsity division.
