Thatcher Krob of Lisbon has been honored for his contributions to the Central College men’s cross country team.
Krob, a senior at Central, has earned two varsity letters during his time at Central College. His career-best 8,000 meter time was a 25:52 at the NCAA Divsional Regional Nov. 13.
Central’s Caleb Silver (junior, Conrad, BCLUW HS) and Will DeHaan (senior, DeWitt, Central DeWitt HS) qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships Nov. 20 in Louisville, Kentucky. They led the Dutch to a sixth-place finish in the 30-team Midwest Regional Championships after finishing fifth at the American Rivers Conference Championships.
Silver was named the team’s Most Valuable Performer and Randy Jimenez (freshman, Indianola, Southeast Warren HS) was the Newcomer of the Year Award winner. The co-Most Improved Performers were Adam Sylvia (junior, Mattapoisett, Mass., Old Rochester HS) and Noah Jorgenson (sophomore, Sidney). The Dutch Spirit award was given to DeHaan. DeHaan and Jack Sagan (senior, Riverside, Ill., Riverside-Brookfield HS) served as team captains. Coach Joe Dunham awarded 12 varsity letters.
