The 15th Annual Lincoln Highway Arts Festival will return to the community on Saturday, Sept. 18. The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in uptown Mount Vernon. More than 50 artists and vendors from across the Midwest are expected.
Magician Remington Haynes will be performing 10-11:30 a.m., and a children’s storytime for youth prek to second grade will be led by Mount Vernon poet laureate Amelia Kibbie from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
A poetry workshop for youth in third through sixth grade will also be held Saturday morning. Musical performances by The Laid Back Band and Better Haves will happen throughout the day and juggler Luther Bangert will perform from 1 to 4 p.m.
The evening concludes with a chance for people to attend Mount Vernon Lisbon Community Theatre’s production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in Memorial Park Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
Masks are encouraged for all attendees to help mitigate spread of COVID-19.
First Street East will be closed Saturday, Sept. 18, from the First Street Community Center parking lot to Hwy. 1 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The street closure includes the private parking lot on the south side of First Street. If anyone has questions, contact [email protected].
