Elite Stone Fabrication, a long-time stone surfacing business located on the north side of Lisbon, is set for relocation and expansion as their site plan was approved on Monday, June 23.
The current Elite Stone Fabrication site has been in Lisbon since 2011 and has garnered enough business growth to warrant said plan.
“The Elite Stone business model has continued to grow year over year,” said Eric Krob, Elite Stone Fabrication owner. “We have gotten to a point where our existing facilities are maximized, and in order to continue our growth path, we have a need to build a new factory.”
The new facility, a 75,000 square foot building, will include their factory and the customer selection center, consolidated all under one roof, differing from the current location with multiple separate buildings. The new location will be located at the intersection of Kraiberg Blvd. and Meyer Dr., down the road from the current location.
“It’s going to be a nice-looking building. They did a very good job with the site plans,” said city engineer Dave Schechinger.
The new site work is currently on schedule, continuing the concrete foundation pouring from now until July 11, when the steel arrives for official building construction.
Addition of City Utility locator and cage blade
After construction troubles locating water lines from the main to the curb box, resulting in relying on Mechanicsville telephone’s utility locator, a new utility locator was approved.
Also approved was the purchasing of a cage blade for the city end loader, allowing for utilization of the end loader for downtown cleanup.
Grant reimbursement
Luke and Casey Krall, of Casey K Photos on 114 E Main St., were approved for a grant reimbursement.
After being approved for downtown reinvestment, the building work has been completed and signed off upon by Lisbon Historic Preservation, allowing for grant reimbursements of both $10,000 and $5,400.
Police chief retirement
On Monday, retiring Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police chief Doug Shannon was recognized in City Council after serving the area since 1993.
Shannon was acknowledged and honored by every city council member and awarded a plaque stating, “You led by example, inspired with courage and served with honor every step of the way.”
