Cole Library summer hours have begun! Unlike most small-town public libraries, we are a shared facility, which means that we are open an amazing number of hours during the academic year. But during the summer when students return home for summer jobs and internships, we are open a typical number of hours for a small-town public library. I have made this transition easier in my own mind by thinking of our summer hours as our everyday hours. No matter the time of year, these are the hours that we are always open (except for holidays). These everyday hours are Monday and Tuesday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are closed on Sundays.
Our web page www.colelibrary.org always has our library hours listed under the “about” heading. If you are out and about and just want to stop by, we have an OPEN sign in the window that can easily be seen from the parking lot. We also have two book drops to use if we are closed or for your convenience–one on the left side of Library Lane past the pond as you approach the library and one inside City Hall on First Street West. Holiday closures this summer are June 19 and July 4 and 5. Extended hours will begin again in August.
