On Thursday, June 6, the Stewart Gallery in the Grinnell Arts Center welcomes a new exhibit entitled “Returning Home: Celebrating Iowa in Paint and Film.” Grinnell artist Dena Peterson and Mount Vernon artist Bob Campagna both have Iowa roots and recently returned to the state. Together, they present their artistic reflections on the experience.
Peterson and Campagna met when both were living and working in Loveland, Colorado. Peterson is an oil-painter residing in Grinnell whose work has been exhibited in regional, national, and international shows and appeared in the motion picture, Loving Vincent. Campagna’s primary medium is black and white film; shooting landscapes, portraiture and Americana.
The opening reception will be Friday, June 7, from 5 – 6:30 p.m., with an artist talk at 6 p.m. The exhibit runs from June 6 – July 6, 2024, and is closed on July 4.
Stewart Gallery is located in the Grinnell Arts Center at 926 Broad Street, Grinnell, Iowa. Regular open hours are Tuesdays – Fridays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon. There is no charge for admission.
