The Lisbon boys’ golf team ended their season at the Class 2A sectional on Wednesday, May 8, at Monticello Golf Club.
The Lions finished fifth with a 333 score. The teams advancing to district play were Oelwein (316) and MFL MarMac (317).
“We had a pretty tough draw,” Lisbon Coach Dylan Hastings said. “I was pretty happy with the way the boys competed.”
Tyler Sauser led the Lions with a 79 card and Blake Stejskal shot 81.
“Tyler birdied 4 of his last 9 holes,” Hastings said. “Blake was battling all day and when he found himself with a tricky lie or tough putt he found a way to work out of it.”
Evan Coleman (86) and Jack Gogel (87) rounded out the scoring.
“I was really impressed with the way these two guys battled all day, especially with it being their first postseason meet they have golfed in,” Hastings said.
