The Mount Vernon boys also competed Monday, April 29, at Marion, with a partial roster, placing fourth at the Marion Invitational.
“It was great getting some of our young guys a chance to run and they responded well with having some good performances,” Mount Vernon coach Ryan Whitman said.
Atticus Rood won the long jump and Dawson Scheil won the 3,200 for the Mustangs, who placed fourth as a team at the seven-team event.

Tri-Rivers postponed.
The Tri-Rivers Conference Meet, scheduled for Thursday, May 2, was pushed back to Monday, May 6, because of the weather.
It was held at Community Dreams Complex in Edgewood.
Lisbon will also compete in a Class 1A state qualifier meet on Thursday, May 9, in Brooklyn (BGM High School).
