The Lisbon boys’ golf team won the Tri-Rivers Conference Meet on Monday, April 29, at Bellevue Golf Course.
The Lions tied with North Cedar, each carding 358, but won by virtue of their fifth golfer. Blake Stejskal carded a 94 to deliver the title.
“As we make a push toward the postseason, all six scores are going to matter,” Lisbon coach Dylan Hastings said. “We can’t just rely on two or three scores.”
The top four for the Lions included Tyler Sauser (87), Evan Coleman (90), Aiden Jensen (90) and Indiana Ferguson (91).
“This wasn’t our best meet, but when guys can shoot consistently as a team it can save some of the hiccups we have,” Hastings said. “We are moving in the right direction at the right time.”
Lisbon also topped Edgewood-Colesburg, 161 to 198, in a dual April 30 at Kernoustie Golf Club but lost to Easton Valley, 161 to 172, on Thursday, May 2, at Preston Valley Golf Course.
The 161 against the Vikings was a season low. “That was a big confidence boost for our guys,” Hastings said.
