The work on the water mains in Lisbon has all been completed, with the final crossing at South Street and Washington Street being finished this past week.
Lisbon city engineer Dave Schechinger said work will now go to seeding the areas that required excavation along city streets to get grass to grow once more. Schechinger said work along Monroe Street is not related to the water main project, and public works director Travis Bagby said work on that street is finishing up. Public works crews are also doing some asphalt patching in the city.
Public works has also started work on the storm sewers for the sports complex and hope that is completed in the next month.
City administrator Brandon Siggins said work is also ongoing for the restoration along Washington Street damaged by Alliant Energy and Windstream Energy by its recent boring for infrastructure. His goal is all work is completed before the seeding window concludes.
“We’ve been meeting with contractors on making sure we do proper seeding and restoration work for any areas that have sunken during the water main project and try to leave these areas along the roads as good as we found it,” Siggins said.
