Cornell freshmen Trent Devore and Mills Arnold notched a quality 8-7(4) win over the No. 2 doubles team of the Pioneers during Sunday’s MWC match on the road. The Rams fell 8-1 to the #31 nationally ranked Pioneers team.
Devore/Arnold claimed their 15th win as a duo this season, while Grinnell claimed the other two doubles bouts before singles play.
Alexander Hadler-Strumlauf battled tough at the No. 1 position, dropping a 6-4, 6-2 decision to the #19 ranked singles player in the ITA Central Region, Wilder Cooke. Zachary Ong also fought and fell to his opponent at No. 4, 6-2, 6-3. Grinnell claimed straight set wins in all six singles matches.
Earlier in the weekend, the men’s tennis team fell to the Lake Forest Foresters in the home finale 9-0.
