Wood gets first D1 offer
Mount Vernon junior Ethan Wood received his first Division 1 football offer this weekend from Boise State.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end posted the news on social media.
According to Rivals.com, Wood is also drawing interest from Iowa, Northern Iowa, and all of the Dakota schools.
MV wrestlers compete
Jase Jaspers went 8-0 for Team Iowa Black at the AAU freshman/sophomore National Duals this weekend at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines. He made first-team all-tournament. Iowa Black finished third.
In eight matches, Jaspers did not give up a single takedown.
A handful of Mount Vernon wrestlers competed at the Independence Freestyle and Greco Tournaments on Saturday.
Avery Paustian and Jaxson Anderson both took home two silvers. Quinlan O’Conner and Mikey Ryan each pulled in one bronze in freestyle. Also competing were Cooper Anderson, Griffin McGuire and Nolan Mercer.
