Cornell’s men’s lacrosse team got it done on both ends of the field in Saturday’s convincing 13-4 victory over Earlham at Darrell Beane Stadium.
The Rams (5-6) had five players register multiple goals and limited the Quakers (4-7) to just one second-half score in a game they never trailed.
Junior Ash Hoelscher won 12-of-13 faceoff chances and collected a team-high eight ground balls to pace the Rams, who outscored Earlham 7-1 over the final 33 minutes of regulation.
Freshman Charley Kobets led Cornell’s attack with five points, notching two goals and three assists. Matt Norwood delivered three goals, followed by Tyler Foster, Brandon Warnke and Caden Lynch with two apiece. Aidan Didier and Landon Card each scored once.
Goalie Thomas Cook earned his fifth win of the season, allowing four goals and saving 12 shots over 53 minutes. George Tarulis posted three saves in relief.
Back-to-back goals by Warnke put the Rams ahead 8-3 at halftime. Cornell only padded its lead in the second half, receiving goals from five different players in the final 30 minutes.
