Cornell College’s men’s tennis team swept two Midwest Conference foes on Saturday, cruising to a pair of 9-0 shutouts over Monmouth College and Illinois College.
The Rams opened the day by blanking Monmouth College. Cornell got doubles victories from Alexander Hadler-Strumlauf/Trent Devore (8-1) and Mills Arnold/Edwin Holyoake (8-1).
In singles, winners were Hadler-Strumlauf (6-1, 6-0), Holyoake (6-0, 6-3), August Krahn (6-0, 6-1) and Evan Davis (6-2, 6-2).
Cornell followed suit and swept Illinois College in the afternoon match. Doubles winners were Hadler-Strumlauf/Federico Polidori (8-1), Arnold/Devore (8-2) and Krahn/Zachary Ong (8-1).
The Rams posted straight set wins at all six singles spots to complete the sweep.
