One of the most important things for a librarian to keep in mind when they buy books is “know your community.”
What I know about Mount Vernon is that it is a community with a lot of quilters. Many of these quilters are library users. Library users like to recommend books. I like to purchase recommended books since I know they will be checked out and often recommended to other patrons. This brings me to the list of new quilt books purchased for Cole Library – some of which were recommended by patrons and some are hot off the press. If you are a quilter, I hope you check them out and recommend them to your quilting friends.
