Palmer dean’s list
Haley Baker of Mount Vernon has been named to the 2023 fall trimester dean’s list at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Main Campus in Davenport.
Local featured in Wartburg College art exhibit
Lily Meester is one of seven students to be featured in an upcoming exhibit in the Waldemar A. Schmidt Art Gallery at Wartburg College.
An opening reception will be held Thursday, April 11, 7-8:30 p.m., and will include remarks from the artists and light refreshments.
Meester, of Mount Vernon, has married her dual interests in arts and athletics by experimenting with logo design variations for collegiate sports teams that compete with Wartburg in the American Rivers Conference.
The student artists, all senior graphic design majors in the fine arts program, have been enrolled in the spring senior seminar session. Working under the direction of Barbara Fedeler, they have produced bodies of work representing the culmination of their careers at Wartburg. The works incorporate design, photography, music, electronic media, art installations and other elements.
The exhibition will remain on view in the gallery through May 26.
