Mount Vernon hosted a season-opening, day-long, four-team individual round-robin tournament on Thursday, March 28.
Marion won the event with 255 points, followed by Grinnell (168), Mount Vernon (167) and Maquoketa (75).
Each player competed in five matches.
“They got to play against all levels of ability,” Mount Vernon coach Crystal Eskelsen said. “Their improvement was visible by the last match of the day. They learned a lot about the things they need to work on and improve and will be more prepared because of it.”
Kenna Rollinger led the Mustangs with 29 team points. She was followed by Jordan Bleile (27), Kelsey Kamerling (21), Lainey Kelly (19), Tallulah Norton (19), Ashlyn Rollinger (16), Nora Dye (12), Alyssa Bohlken (10), Molly Bany (9) and Mae Stoops (5).
