Cole Public Library and the Lisbon Public Library have a wonderful cooperative relationship that benefits both communities. We have recently embarked on a new cooperative effort to support our youngest patrons –Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
What is the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library? It is a program designed to inspire a love of reading by sending every enrolled child a free book every month until their fifth birthday. The Lisbon community has had this program for several years because of the efforts of the Friends of the Lisbon Library. Due to the way Cole Library is structured–along with federal tax laws–our library wasn’t able to participate…until now.
The Friends of the Lisbon Library, with the cooperation and support of Cole Library, have graciously added the 52314 Zip code to the program so that children from both communities can participate.
If you would like to enroll your children under 5 years of age, there are forms at both libraries. There is no cost to the families participating. We only ask that you take time to read to your child – it makes a difference.
