One injured in crash along Mount Vernon road
Kaleb Beining, 26, Iowa City, was injured in a motorcycle crash along Mount Vernon Road West Friday, March 15, at 8:07 p.m. He was transported to a local hospital by Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Sgt. Chad Watkinson of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Beining was westbound on Mount Vernon Road east of O’Connor Road on his motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle ended up in the north ditch.
Linn County Rescue, Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police Department and Mount Vernon Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
Beining was cited for failure to maintain control.
