The Mount Vernon-Lisbon unit of the League of Women Voters will be hosting a program on the “State of Libraries” Wednesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. at Mount Vernon City Hall.
The Public is welcome and encouraged to attend this informative program.
The State of the Libraries program will include discussion with local library directors Grace Chamberlain, Mount Vernon’s Cole Library and Elizabeth Hoover de Galvez, Lisbon Public Library. The discussion will provide both insight into their lives as librarians in our active MVL community, as well as an overview of current programs, services, resources, and community impact of each library, as well as future plans.
As always, questions are welcome.
Our public libraries are a bedrock of democracy, providing free access to information and knowledge, promoting literacy and education, supporting intellectual freedom, and serving as community hubs for dialogue and engagement.
