Recently I admitted to a friend that I am reading a lot of large print books these days. (Excuse me for a minute while I enlarge my font – there that’s better.) My friend was surprised that the library had large print books. I replied kindly, “Yes of course we do.” What I was really thinking was. “Don’t you ever read my column? I’ve written about our large print book collection.” Then I remembered something I learned at a marketing seminar – people remember what you tell them when it pertains to their lives.
So, if you are 35, without bifocals, and reading tiny print joyfully, you probably won’t retain the information when I mention large print books. You have more important things to remember.
But if you have now entered the age where large print books are wonderful – like me – then I am reminding you that we have a large print collection and I’ve just ordered 15 more titles to entice you.
This collection is located on the library’s first floor and is clearly marked large print.
Some titles are not in our regular collection so you may find yourself enjoying large print books sooner than you thought.
