A small amount of diesel fuel was spilled in Lisbon Friday afternoon.
According to Lisbon fire chief Brandon Siggins, a small amount of diesel fuel overflowed from a semi truck at Linn Co-Op at Fifth Avenue and Monroe Streets in Lisbon Friday at about 2:45 p.m.
“I was in contact with Linn County Hazmat team, who advised Linn-Co-op needed a professional company to come out and clean it up,” Siggins said. “Lisbon fire was able to mitigate any further spread of the spill with the equipment we carry on board our trucks.”
Fire department staff was on site until that clean-up was done.
Linn Co-Op contacted Iowa Department of Natural Resources per policy of hazardous materials spilling.
