There is a lot that goes into selecting new books for the library. Librarians use a variety of methods and criteria when choosing which books to add to the collection. We study bestseller and awards lists, read through popular and accredited book reviews, consider patrons requests and current series, pull circulation statistics to see what is being checked out by our library community, and much more. These are all things that Cathy and I consider when ordering books, and it is a part the what makes our library collection exciting, robust, and patron-focused.
