Hadler-Strumlauf reaches 100 career wins milestone
With his win in doubles this afternoon, senior Alexander Hadler-Strumlauf, became the seventh men’s tennis player in program history to reach 100 career wins. The Rams took on Central College in a Sunday afternoon dual match in the Small Athletic & Wellness Center, and narrowly dropped a 5-4 decision to the Dutch.
Hadler-Strumlauf (101) moves into sixth all time on the program career wins list, and joins Shoma Kishimoto (142), Hayden Dzurisin (141), Tucker Barnes (118), Garrett Russikoff (116), Austin Reed (109), and Thomas Weiss (100) as players to reach the milestone. Teaming with Federico Polidori at No. 1, the duo collected their seventh win as partners this season at the top spot, ousting the Dutch pair 8-2 to give the Rams their lone point going into singles.
Hadler-Strumlauf and Polidori helped even the meet score at 3-3, posting wins at the top two spots respectively, 6-2, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-2. The Dutch then collected victories at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots to regain the lead in the meet.
Trent Devore pushed the match to 4-4 after a comeback win at No. 3, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. Mills Arnold was edged out at No. 5 to put away the comeback hopes for the Rams, 6-2, 4-6, 4-6.
